Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Kier Design team, based in Liverpool or London. 40 hours per week with some flexibility, salary starting from £50,000 per annum.

The role involves leading the mechanical design for large construction projects and coordinating with other disciplines to deliver compliant, cost-effective solutions. You will be expected to communicate complex technical concepts to a broad audience, uphold quality procedures and manage design documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with membership in CIBSE or IET.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status.
• Experience with the discipline and strong technical knowledge.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to a wider business audience.
• Experience applying quality procedures and document control in design.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design for large, complex construction projects as part of Kier Design.
• Lead the mechanical design team, integrate disciplines, drive innovation.
• Ensure sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective design from concept to construction.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors and stakeholders to align needs with engineering reality.
• Provide high-quality designs and oversee professional services for allocated projects.
