Job summary

Eligo Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for data centre and mission critical projects across the UK. You will lead mechanical building services design, mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver technically outstanding facilities.

You'll work on HVAC, chilled water and ventilation systems, leveraging Revit and BIM Level 2 workflows to produce robust calculations, reports and specifications, while ensuring adherence to British

Qualifications

• Previous Mechanical Building Services Design experience within the Data Centre or Mission Critical sector is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of hyperscale and mission critical Data Centre projects.
• Produce and review detailed engineering calculations, reports and specifications.
• Design HVAC, chilled water, condenser water, ventilation and mechanical building services systems.
• Coordinate designs using Revit and BIM Level 2 workflows.
• Review and check the work produced by junior engineers.
• Mentor Graduate and Mechanical Design Engineers, supporting their technical development.
• Attend client meetings and present engineering solutions with confidence.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Public Health, Structural and Civil Engineering teams.
• Support Project Managers in delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges through innovative and practical design solutions.
• Ensure compliance with current British Standards, Building Regulations and industry best practice.
• Contribute to technical excellence across the wider engineering team.
