Job summary

Airco Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd in Hull is seeking a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to lead complex MEP projects from concept to completion. The role focuses on HVAC design, calculations, GA drawings and equipment selections, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

You will develop design briefs with clients, ensure compliance with UK standards, and apply renewable and low-carbon approaches where possible. Office-based with some site travel, full-time.

Qualifications

• Strong HVAC knowledge within building services design.
• Experience in mechanical building services design across sectors.
• Excellent communication, presentation and client-facing skills.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and calculation software.
• Understanding of UK Building Regulations and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of significant, complex building services projects.
• Develop HVAC designs, calculations, reports, specs, GA drawings and equipment selections.
• Define design briefs with clients and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with client specs, legislation and standards.
• Coordinate mechanical services within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Implement low-carbon design principles and renewable technologies where appropriate.
• Produce fully coordinated installation drawings and documentation.
• Manage multiple projects across sectors within budget and programme.
• Attend meetings, site visits, surveys and technical reports.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and teams.
• Contribute to business growth through excellent client service and profitability.
