We are looking for Lead Mechanics to lead our team of Mechanics while helping to maintain our fleet of shared vehicles in Edinburgh. This role is ideal for mechanically-inclined operations professionals who want to broaden and build their career experiences. Teamwork is at the heart of our operation, as mechanics work together to identify critical parts of our product lines that can be improved and ensure the safe working condition of our fleet.

What you’ll do:

  • Hire, train, and lead a team of Mechanics while assigning daily tasks as needed and ensuring workflow is efficient.
  • Maintain a team-oriented environment and integrate new Mechanics into the team.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback to management on team performance.
  • Ensure operational compliance and safety of all vehicles by completing quality checks prior to deployment.
  • Follow established safety procedures to ensure Lime riders are on the safest vehicles.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of completed quality checks for vehicles and parts.
  • Manage battery operations such as inspection, rotation, check-in/out, and more.
  • Support inventory management and organization of tools, parts, and vehicles.
  • Assist with tire maintenance, including changes, inflation, or assembly.
  • Identify issues and perform small repairs on vehicles in the field, from brake adjustments to vehicle cleaning, to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition.
  • Maintain and abide by safety and hygiene standards within the warehouse.
  • Perform warehouse repairs, from basic maintenance to complex electronic part replacement.
  • Maximize the number of operational vehicles by efficiently completing assigned tasks.
  • Safely operate a pallet jack or push cart regularly.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

About you:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar industry; ability to train others preferred.
  • Ability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs regularly.
  • Understanding of workforce management to assist Operations Management with staffing.
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to new concepts and tools.
  • Ability to use data to inform decisions and understand KPIs to make an impact.
  • Knowledge of cell phone applications; iOS experience preferred.
  • Experience operating a pallet jack or push cart safely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for quick and efficient repairs.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage daily tasks.
  • A safety-oriented mindset, capable of conducting rigorous quality checks.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members at all levels.
