Job Description:

Building on our past. Ready for the future

Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. We are bridging two worlds as we accelerate to more sustainable energy sources, while helping our customers provide the energy, chemicals and resources that society needs now.

We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We solve complex problems by finding integrated data-centric solutions from consulting and engineering to installation and commissioning, to decommissioning and remediation. Join us and help drive innovation and sustainability in our projects.

Role Context:

As a Lead Material Engineer at Worley, you will ensure relevant information is incorporated into onshore and subsea pipeline design, reports, and specifications, including codes and standards, from early concept to construction phases. You will support proposals, tenders, and bid clarifications, and contribute to promoting new design approaches and technologies. You may be client-facing during many project instances or on projects requiring peer-assists.

Responsibilities:

  1. Offering technical expertise to the project team, leveraging our ability to achieve excellent results, and managing pipelines and structures material requirements.
  2. Applying extensive knowledge in advanced theories of material sciences and engineering, specifically in subsea pipelines, structures, and energy transition products (hydrogen, CO2, ammonia).
  3. Coordinating, leading, or supporting proposals, both technically and commercially.
  4. Keeping abreast of new scientific methods and developments, recommending changes or new programs based on such developments.
  5. Maintaining full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical scopes across projects, incorporating lessons learned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  2. Experience in subsea design, offshore installation, and fabrication, with basic knowledge in hydrogen and CO2 pipelines.
  3. Understanding of material specifications for products like hydrogen, slurries, or CO2 in various phases.
  4. Good knowledge of relevant codes and standards, especially for subsea design.
  5. Understanding of high-pressure, high-temperature flowlines, deep water, and sour service pipelines, with experience in Finite Element modeling and ECA.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive, team-oriented, with a positive attitude.

Moving Forward:

We aim to energize and empower our people to drive sustainable impact through a values-inspired culture of belonging, connection, and innovation. We are committed to diversity, inclusion, and respectful workplaces, supporting our workforce transition to low-carbon energy infrastructure. Join us to explore diverse opportunities and contribute to sustainable change.
