Job description

If you're looking for a career that will unlock new opportunities, join HSBC and experience the possibilities. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

Our Risk and Compliance function has a critical role to play in supporting, challenging and advising across all areas of the business through establishing policy, monitoring profiles, and identifying and managing forward-looking risk and compliance. We focus on creating an environment that encourages our people to speak up and do the right thing, as well as protecting our customers, the organisation and the integrity of the financial markets in which we operate. Already an industry-leader in many respects, we want to continue setting standards and evolving to respond to strategic changes.

The Lead Market Risk Manager supports in establishing and delivering the 2LoD Assurance activities within Traded Risk. Initially, this role will provide input and execution support for the Group's Risk Management Framework (RMF) assurance programme and will support the roll out of a control assurance framework for Traded Risk that provides a common set of standards and definitions. This will require coordination with business and functional stakeholders at Group and regional levels and the role holder will support in managing and ongoing delivery of these activities once in a business-as-usual state.

This role will also support the thematic review and closure of risk and issues relating to Traded Risk arising from Management Self-Identified issues, regulatory requirements, Compliance, Internal Audit, and External Audit and ensuring that these matters are well understood by senior management and addressed on a globally consistent basis.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:
• Support in the definition and scoping of the Traded Risk Assurance function, promoting and implementing synergies and efficiencies while securing an optimal and best in class control environment
• Review, analyse and assess the risk and control environment and regulatory reporting processes of Market Risk
• Support Market Risk assurance review teams through execution and ensure reviews are appropriately targeted
• Engage with Market Risk Stewards to align priorities and update on work in progress and ensure work is undertaken and executed to established internal standards
• Work with the business to understand the impact of emerging risks that require changes to controls, resources and business operations to ensure they remain within appetite.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Strong Market Risk domain knowledge
• Working experience in either Risk control, Operations and/or and risk management
• Experience in Assurance and Audit techniques including Regulatory reporting
• Strong writing skills and ability to take complex requirements and document them in an easy to read manner
• Proven track record of successful involvement with change management programs

This role is based in London on a hybrid basis.
