Job summary

Verso Recruitment Group is assisting a growing technology business in Royston to recruit a Lead Manufacturing Technician. You will supervise a team, support day-to-day production, and help drive improvements in processes, documentation and technician capability.

The role is hands-on and demands strong mechanical and electrical skills, fault-finding ability and the drive to take on greater leadership responsibility to boost manufacturing performance.

Qualifications

• Several years' experience as a technician within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience assembling, modifying, fault-finding and repairing electromechanical systems.
• Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision and support to the technician team.

• Fault-find and diagnose issues systematically.

Job description

A growing technology business is looking for a Lead Manufacturing Technician to join its manufacturing team in Royston.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced technician to take on a lead role, supporting the build, testing, fault-finding, repair and continuous improvement of complex electromechanical products.

You will also provide day-to-day guidance to a team of technicians, helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

The Role

Working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, you will support day-to-day production while helping improve processes, documentation and technician capability.

The role will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on but is also ready to take on greater responsibility for a team and help drive manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

• Several years' experience as a technician within a manufacturing environment
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong practical mechanical and electrical skills
• Experience assembling, modifying, fault-finding and repairing electromechanical systems
• Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Able to use standard workshop and engineering equipment
• Understanding of sensors, motors, actuators, wiring, connectors and mechanical assemblies
• Methodical approach to fault-finding and problem solving
• Good attention to detail and a practical, hands-on attitude
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Eligible to work in the UK
