Job summary
Fortress Recruit Limited in Portsmouth is seeking a senior Lead Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing processes, support production, and drive continuous improvement in a complex environment.
The role requires extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, CNC, DFM/NPI, and Six Sigma, with SC clearance eligibility. It is a full-time, on-site position offering a salary of £50-53K DoE plus an 8% bonus and comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Experience with CNC machining and tooling.
- Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and new product introduction.
- SC clearance eligibility (5 years UK residency).
Responsibilities
- Mentor junior engineers in the production engineering team.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical support to production and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering on DFM and NPI.
- Develop tooling, work holding and fixtures.
- Drive continuous improvement and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Support new machinery projects including CAPEX and commissioning.
- Maintain manufacturing documentation, BoMs and routings.
