Schochet is currently seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician.

Plumley Village is a 430-unit Family Apartment Community located in Worcester, MA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Schedule and assist with daily operations (service orders, repainting/re-carpeting, apartment turnovers, etc.)
  2. Coordinate service contracts and oversee vendor and contractor activities.
  3. Communicate effectively with residents, fellow associates, vendors, and supervisors.
  4. Inspect vacated apartments, complete ‘make-ready’ checklists, and inform the manager of needed services and repairs.
  5. Be available and often on-site during weather or property emergencies.
  6. Conduct property inspections and/or participate in inspection teams.
  7. Complete preventative maintenance activities.

Lead Maintenance Technician responsibilities include lifting moderate weights (30-60 lbs.), standing or walking all day, and occasionally performing heavy lifting. The role requires strength, endurance, independence, and strong customer service skills. Additionally, the Lead Maintenance Technician will fill in for the Maintenance Supervisor or Facilities Manager if they are unavailable.

Minimum of 3+ years of residential property maintenance experience is required. Candidates must live within 30 minutes of Worcester, have a valid driver’s license, and own transportation. Compensation includes a $150 weekly on-call premium, and a time-and-a-half rate for emergency calls plus travel time.
