Job Description
The Lead Maintenance Engineer is responsible for making the necessary repairs and maintenance for heat, light, power, carpentry, painting, etc., in property (hotel, exterior of building and grounds, parking lot).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
21. Responsible for ensuring preventive maintenance and regularly scheduled maintenance of all machinery and equipment in hotel. Ensures completion of all preventive maintenance including: lubrication, belts, refrigeration, changing of filters, etc. of electrical, plumbing, plastering, painting, locksmith and other mechanical.
22. Monitors the status of all out of order rooms ensuring room inventory is completely available during sold out nights. Ensures the correction of all Engineering related items to re-market the rooms immediately.
23. Assist the Director of Engineering in preparing the Capital Expenditure Plan for all repairs and Maintenance items. Assists in the completion of all capital R&M items during the year and according to budget.
24. Ensures all Engineering staff turns in lost and found items to the Security office immediately.
25. Reports any problems, complaints or compliments to Hotel Management or the Director of Engineering immediately.
26. Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE
Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent communication, mechanical, carpentry, electricity, refrigeration, etc.
Basic skill in painting and wallpapering.
SUPERVISION
Position functions semi-autonomously.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a High School diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of hospitality experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
3 years of Engineering experience in commercial or residential establishments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and climb ladders and onto roofs.
Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds. May lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
UNIFORM REQUIREMENT
Uniform will be provided.
Employees are responsible for maintaining a clean/crisp looking uniform.
