Job summary

Greencore’s Old Leake site near Boston specialises in chilled Italian ready meals and deli products. We are seeking a highly capable engineer to lead maintenance, ensuring production assets run at peak performance in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

You will drive planned, predictive and reactive maintenance, support setups and changeovers, and collaborate across teams to deliver continuous improvement, with a focus on fault diagnosis and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong people management experience.

• Experience completing reactive and planned maintenance.
• Experience with small installations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Appropriate engineering qualifications (mechanical or electrical).

Our site in Old Leake, just outside Boston, Lincolnshire, specialises in chilled Italian ready meals and modern deli products for a dedicated customer. The site employs around 700 people and operates in a fast-paced production environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Take the lead in a dynamic engineering role where you’ll ensure production assets run at peak performance.

You’ll drive planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance, support machinery setups and changeovers, and collaborate across teams to deliver continuous improvement.

With a focus on fault diagnosis, technical leadership, and hands-on problem solving, this role offers the chance to make a real impact in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Role Accountabilities

• Perform planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production assets
• Diagnose and resolve faults across electrical, mechanical, and automation systems
• Support machinery setups, changeovers, installations, and removals
• Manufacture and repair components for processing and packaging equipment
• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement projects
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and asset records
• Mentor and support technical development of team members
• Ensure tools and equipment are available and functioning
• Act as point of contact during weekends or manager absence
• Escalate issues to senior engineering management when required
• Participate in internal and external audits

What We’re Looking For

• Strong people management experience
• A multi skilled background
• Experience completing both reactive and planned maintenance activity and small installations
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Appropriate professional mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and training
• Thorough understanding of common mechanical and electrical systems
• Professional attitude with plenty of drive and enthusiasm
• Good IT skills including Word,Exceland Outlook
