Job summary

Greencore's Warrington site, known as the Italian centre of excellence, is a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit delivering high quality Italian ready meals for Tesco and Co-Op.

Join our Engineering Management team to plan and control all planned maintenance, drive CMMS adoption, schedule contractor work, and maximise equipment availability while upholding health, safety and hygiene policies.

Qualifications

• GSCE level or equivalent experience working within an Engineering environment.
• FMCG knowledge in a fast-paced seasonal environment.
• Experience with engineering and contractor deployment/management.
• Energy and enthusiasm with a 'One Team' ethos.

Responsibilities

• Control planned departmental activities, ensuring maintenance standards, statutory compliance, and Health & Safety.
• Guide CMMS adoption and train maintenance team members.
• Use CMMS to convert work requests into achievable plans and balance resources.
• Schedule and manage contractor activities with safe site conditions.
• Develop maintenance schedules to maximise equipment availability.
• Chair daily meetings and review KPIs with Engineering Management.

What you'll be doing

• Control planned departmental activities, ensuring maintenance standards, practices, statutory compliance, and Health & Safety requirements are met while maximising equipment availability.
• Support CMMS adoption across the facility by guiding and training maintenance team members.
• Use the CMMS to convert work requests and labour availability into achievable plans, balancing operational needs.
• Manage planning risks and amend work orders where practical to meet customer service and stock targets.
• Communicate maintenance plans and information effectively with Operations, Technical, and Supply Chain teams.
• Propose and implement improvement initiatives within the area of responsibility.
• Organise, plan, schedule, and control all planned maintenance and engineering activities.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to maximise equipment availability and effective use of engineering resources.
• Chair daily meetings and develop/review departmental KPIs with the Engineering Management team.
• Maintain daily maintenance records, including completed activities, components used, and follow-up requirements.
• Schedule and manage contractor activities, ensuring safe site conditions and compliance with safety protocols.
• Work at all times in accordance with company Health & Safety and Hygiene policies.
• And any ad-hoc duties

What we're looking for

• Educated to GSCE level or equivalent experience working within an Engineering environment
• FMCG knowledge supported by experience of working in a fast-paced seasonal environment
• Awareness and experience of engineering and contractor deployment and management
• Attention to detail skill and ability to prioritise
• Can demonstrate analytical thinking coupled with a strong assertive character.
• Experience working with computers including experience of a CMMS system
• Energy and enthusiasm with a 'One Team' ethos
