Lead Maintenance and Contract Manager

Belmont, Durham with hybrid working, currently 2 days in the office and 3 days from home

Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw)

Salary £60,000 to £65,000 pa, depending on skills and experience plus car allowance and brilliant benefits!

As our new Lead Maintenance and Contract Manager, you’ll play a key role in our Maintenance team, helping us deliver repairs and services that really work for our customers. You’ll lead change with freedom and purpose, championing better ways of working and seeing ideas through from start to finish. It’s a big job, but a meaningful one. What you’ll do

  • Lead a large, mobile team and contractors to deliver repairs, voids and servicing works

  • Build strong relationships with our maintenance partners and hold them to account

  • Drive improvements in cost, time, quality and customer experience

  • Take ownership of key contracts, resolving disputes and making sure work gets done right first time

  • Champion change across the team and lead on strategic projects

  • Keep a close eye on budgets, performance and safety, always putting customers first

What you bring

  • Been educated to degree level (or equivalent) with strong background of in-house and maintenance management/contract management

  • Membership of a professional body, CIOB, RICS or equivalent

  • Experience in leading dispersed teams in maintenance or contract management

  • Strong skills in building partnerships, solving problems and driving performance, with a clear, calm way of communicating

  • Confidence with data, budgets and contracts to make sound decisions

  • A strategic mind, with the drive to deliver lasting change

Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review

Job details

  • Full time, 37.5 hpw Monday to Friday, flexible working hours (we’re open to agreeing a work pattern with you)

  • Hybrid working, from home and our office in Belmont, Durham

  • Able to use technology, for monitoring progress of works and budget management

  • A full current UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. We’ll pay your mileage.
