Role Summary

The post holder will work autonomously and as part of the MDT and larger teams to assess Lung cancer patients holistically. You will advise, initiate investigations, and implement patient care, supporting patients and their loved ones throughout the pathway.

You will communicate effectively to improve patient experience and quality of care, reducing hospital stays and avoiding unnecessary admissions.

You will collaborate with the MDT lead consultant to develop the future service in line with Trust policies, utilizing resources effectively.

Alongside the lung team, you will provide clinical leadership, specialist advice, and education to health professionals regarding symptoms or side effects related to treatment or cancer to enhance quality of life.

As a Band 8a, you will be a non-medical prescriber; training will be provided for nurse-led clinics.

The Lung Cancer CNS Team seeks a self-motivated, dynamic, patient-focused nurse with recent lung cancer/oncology experience to maintain high-quality care delivery.

As a Lung Cancer Lead CNS, you will lead nurse-led services supporting the Lung Cancer pathway, providing clinical leadership and embedding the living with and beyond cancer programme.

The Lead will drive the patient experience agenda, supporting curative and palliative care to improve quality of life.

The Band 8a will provide clinical leadership, working closely with the Lead Cancer Nurse and offering advanced practice to patients.

You will be an integrated team member across the entire patient pathway, supporting patients throughout their lung cancer journey, leading and working within the team, and managing your caseload autonomously.
