Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator at a director/AVP level to sustain, modernize and automate the firm's Linux infrastructure across complex environments. You will own reliability and performance, collaborate with global teams, and contribute as an Infrastructure SRE with hands-on coding and automation.

You’ll participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation and maintain clear documentation while following robust change, incident and problem management practices

Qualifications

• 5–7 years enterprise Linux experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems, hardware, automated builds and lights-out management.
• Scripting experience, preferably Python.
• Understanding of kernel internals, latency-sensitive devices, TCP/IP and security fundamentals.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting and operational support solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support, deploy, and troubleshoot large-scale production Linux environments with stability, performance, and reliability focus.
• Contribute as an Infrastructure SRE with hands-on coding and automation.
• Participate in global follow-the-sun on-call rotation for production issues.
• Write and maintain documentation for systems, processes and procedures.
• Adhere to change, incident and problem management practices.
