Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking a senior legal leader to guide the organisation through complex regulatory landscapes and deliver robust policy frameworks. You will advise the Chief Executive, CFO, EST and the Board on legal matters and governance, while building a high-performing Legal Team.

The role requires strategic partnering across departments to ensure compliance, risk mitigation and effective contract management, including data protection obligations.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and statutory advice to the Chief Executive, Chief Financial Officer, EST and the Chair and Board of Trustees in relation to legal issues and development of policies and procedures.
• Lead the Legal Team and ensure the skills and capabilities are developed within the team to meet the demands placed on the organisation.
• Be an active member of the FLA Leadership Team, promoting strategy and improvements in employee engagement and enablement.
• Collaborate with Procurement to provide guidance on contracts and contract management to safeguard the organisation's interests and address key risks.
• Develop policies and procedures or liaise with other departments to ensure the business fulfils its legal and statutory requirements.
• Provide guidance, tools and training to support best practice and drive compliance, including data protection requirements.
