Job summary

EBN Academy in Yardley, Birmingham, is seeking a Lead Learning Mentor to lead our mentoring programme and support students who face barriers to learning. You will work with the Head Teacher, Pastoral Manager and teachers, acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

You will build strong relationships, maintain professional boundaries and help improve attendance, aspiration and behaviour. The role includes coordinating mentoring with restorative approaches and contributing to whole‑school

Qualifications

• Experience of working with challenging behaviour.
• Experience coordinating a programme or caseload.
• Understanding safeguarding; willingness to take on Deputy DSL responsibilities.
• Familiar with Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum.
• Committed to making a difference for young people.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee mentoring programme operations.
• Oversee induction of new students.
• Mentor students with challenging behaviour using restorative approaches.
• Provide academic and pastoral support as Personal Coach and mentor.
• Support students in lessons and around the Academy.
• Act as Deputy DSL alongside safeguarding duties.
• Track impact of mentoring and behaviour interventions.
• Lead activities to promote engagement and participate in school-wide events.
