The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist (Learning Disability) to lead psychiatric care for adults in Purbeck and Ferndown. The role combines clinics and home visits within Community Learning Disability Teams and links to an Intensive Support Team.

Applicants should hold MRCPsych or equivalent, plus Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician eligibility or the ability to obtain it before starting. The position offers flexible working arrangements and NHS benefits.

Competenze

• MBBS or equivalent general medical qualification
• MRCPsych or recognised equivalent (e.g. membership of psychiatry college abroad)

Mansioni

• Provide psychiatric leadership, assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults with learning disabilities
• Provide psychiatric input to patients supported by the Intensive Support Team
• Deliver clinical work through clinics and home visits
• Provide medical cross-cover for Consultant colleagues during annual, study and emergency sick leave
• Participate in the county-wide senior on-call rota
• Contribute to weekly Intensive Support Team review meetings
• Contribute to the wider development of community-based learning disability services
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care
