Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking a senior lawyer to lead planning and highways legal work within the Legal Services team. The role involves advising on planning and highways matters, driving S106 and S278 agreements, handling appeals and enforcement, and supervising colleagues to ensure high practice standards.

The successful candidate will have a current practising certificate and at least three years of post-qualification experience, with hybrid and agile working arrangements

This senior post in the Legal Team at Westmorland and Furness Council is for a lawyer to lead planning and highways legal work. • Good IT literacy and ability to use electronic legal publications for research
• Effective communication and sound judgment in solving problems
