Job summary

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is seeking an Experienced Laser Cutter Supervisor for the Nottingham day shift. This role leads the laser cutting team and ensures smooth, safe production with strict quality controls.

You will manage workload, set up laser machinery, inspect first-offs, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with planning, quality and operations. Strong leadership and fabrication knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Supervise a laser cutting or manufacturing team.
• Operate and understand industrial laser cutting machinery.
• Interpret engineering drawings and understand manufacturing processes.
• Have strong sheet metal fabrication knowledge.
• Demonstrate workload management and prioritisation.
• Show leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Maintain high attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Confident in problem solving and using computer tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day laser-cutting operations.
• Lead and support laser operators and production staff.
• Ensure targets are met safely, efficiently and on time.
• Allocate work and manage workload.
• Set up and operate laser-cutting machinery.
• Conduct first-off inspections for spec compliance.
• Monitor quality and resolve issues promptly.
• Minimise downtime through proactive problem solving.
• Collaborate with Programming, Planning, Quality and Operations.
• Train and coach team members and deliver performance reviews.
• Maintain housekeeping and promote health & safety culture.
• Report machine issues and liaise with maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support recruitment and onboarding.
