Job summary

JPMorgan Chase on the Graphite team is building a cloud-based payments platform to power global expansion. As Lead Software Engineer, you will deliver high-performance, low-latency solutions end-to-end, from understanding business needs to production support.

You will work in an agile, collaborative environment, mentor engineers, and apply AI-assisted development practices to raise code quality and delivery speed while ensuring security and resiliency.

Qualifications

• Hands-on coding with a proven track record.
• Strong governance of AI in engineering workflows, secure data handling.
• Experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant AI adoption.
• Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong Java or other language skills.
• Experience with automation and continuous delivery.
• Knowledge of financial services IT and cloud-native experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Establish consistent validation standards, including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
• Promote reuse of effective patterns across the team.
• Apply knowledge of tools within the SDLC toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities.
• Lead evaluation sessions with internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new and leading-edge technologies.
• Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
