Lead IT Project Manager - Smart Buildings

Job summary

Unknown company in London is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead smart buildings and ICT infrastructure projects across high-profile commercial environments. From pre-construction and design development through installation, commissioning and handover, you will manage diverse tech stacks including structured cabling, fibre, networks, security, AV and IoT.

You will coordinate design, procurement, subcontractors and on-site resources, manage budgets and P&L, and ensure timely delivery

Qualifications

• Strong experience managing ICT, structured cabling, smart building or technology infrastructure projects.
• 5+ years in a similar Project Manager role.
• Good understanding of copper and fibre structured cabling systems.
• Experience managing patching, WAP installations and related network infrastructure.
• Full project lifecycle from pre-construction to handover.
• Experience managing subcontractors and installation teams.
• Strong budgeting, cost control and P&L awareness.
• Experience with testing, commissioning, quality control and project documentation.
• Experience with security systems, AV, IoT or wired/wireless networks is advantageous.
• Favourable qualifications include PRINCE2, APM, CTPM, SMSTS or ECS; relevant project experience is key.

Responsibilities

• Managing projects from bid stage through to completion and handover.
• Developing and managing project programmes, milestones and delivery schedules.
• Coordinating design development, procurement, materials and site resources.
• Managing structured cabling, network and smart building installations.
• Overseeing subcontractors and installation teams on site.
• Managing project budgets, cash flow, valuations and overall commercial performance.
• Accountable for project P&L and ensuring margins are met.
• Collaborating with clients, main contractors, consultants and stakeholders.
• Coordinating testing and commissioning, including fibre and copper tests.
• Managing project documentation, O&M information and as-built records.
• Supporting pre-sales with programme, resource and operational input.
• Leading handovers and transition to support/maintenance teams.
• Maintaining health, safety and site compliance throughout.
