Overview

BDS are recruiting for a Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer to work with a well known Housing Association in their Exeter office with hybrid working also available.

As the Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for leading on the maintenance and operation of the organisation's IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability across all business locations.

This role involves managing both on-premises (VMware) and cloud server environments.

Responsibilities
  • Working closely with other IT colleagues to support, diagnose, and maintain all elements within the IT infrastructure
  • Be involved in projects requiring technical assistance.
  • Utilise existing and new technology to optimise services delivered to the business.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in managing on-premises and cloud server infrastructure including Windows Server operating systems and virtual machine computing.
  • Strong expertise in managing and deploying virtual server environments using VMware.
  • Experience of network deployments, integration and virtualisation.
  • Experience with capacity planning and infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Details

Hours: between 7:30am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday (OOO cover is also expected)

Pay rate: £27.82ph PAYE - £36.41ph UMB

This role is ongoing until March 2026 but could go perm for the right person

You will need to be a driver with access to a vehicle
