Part of a Trust, our client is seeking to recruit a Lead IT Engineer. The operational model is based around a centralised executive management function and three geographical areas: Harrogate, Skipton, and Keighley. This enables sharing and managing resources to support local hub schools.

The Lead IT Engineer role is critical to the effective and efficient running of the schools in the Harrogate area, including 1 secondary and 3 primary schools. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, positive, well-organised, and able to work closely with staff across the schools and colleagues in the group.

In brief, you will:

  • Manage all Microsoft ICT services daily; act as the first point of contact for IT support escalation and problem management within the school.
  • Line manage an ICT apprentice, overseeing their daily duties and supporting their development.
  • Support all primary schools within the Trust ICT team.
  • Proactively handle IT support requests and software/equipment faults to maintain high standards of support.
  • Monitor critical systems such as anti-virus, networking equipment, and server hardware, responding appropriately to alerts.
  • Collaborate with the Exams and Cover Manager to support online examination software for various examination boards.
