Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Lead IT Consultant to shape enterprise technology direction, translating strategy into actionable roadmaps. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, domain owners, and partners across an international organization to move ideas from concept to pilot and scale.

You'll influence decision-makers through clear thinking and executive materials, leading innovation projects and ensuring governance across technology initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in technology strategy, CTO advisory, enterprise architecture or consulting.
• Broad technology profile across the stack with curiosity to go deeper when needed.
• Ability to connect technology trends with business and customer considerations.
• Experience developing technology or domain strategies and producing executive materials.
• Knowledge of TOGAF, SAFe, waterfall, agile, DevOps and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Translate strategic goals into prioritised initiatives and roadmaps.
• Lead horizon scanning and competitive analysis for 3–5 year outlook.
• Produce executive-level recommendations and decision materials.
• Design and run innovation programmes, labs, hackathons, pilots.
• Partner with stakeholders to diagnose challenges and recommend technologies.
• Evaluate architecture proposals balancing creativity with governance and risk.
• Engage with senior stakeholders and cross-country teams without direct authority.

Life on the team

Our Technology Strategy and Innovation team sits within the CTO function and helps shape enterprise-level technology direction across Computacenter. As a Lead IT Consultant, you'll work at the intersection of strategy, technology and business-turning market developments and emerging ideas into clear recommendations, practical roadmaps and measurable outcomes. You'll collaborate with senior stakeholders, domain owners, technical specialists, delivery teams and external partners across an international organisation, helping promising ideas progress from concept to pilot and scale.

What you'll do

• Translate strategic goals into prioritised initiatives, investment cases, technology plans and governed delivery roadmaps.
• Lead horizon scanning and competitive analysis, identifying developments that could change company or customer direction over the next three to five years.
• Produce high-quality white papers, strategic recommendations and executive-level decision materials that make complex topics clear and actionable.
• Design and run innovation frameworks and programmes, including labs, hackathons and proof-of-concept or proof-of-value activity, taking ideas through incubation and pilot stages.
• Partner with stakeholders to diagnose business challenges, optimise processes and recommend best-fit technologies based on value, feasibility and risk.
• Evaluate architecture and solution proposals, balancing creativity and pace with strong governance, standards and commercial discipline.
• Bring broad technology understanding to each assignment and investigate unfamiliar domains in sufficient depth by engaging the right specialists and validating assumptions.
• Support strategic work for customers and major programmes, including concentrated periods of on-site engagement where needed.
• Build productive relationships with technology vendors, partners, analysts and industry communities to access insight, innovation and commercial value.
• Influence senior stakeholders through clear thinking, credible presentations and compelling written outputs, leading cross-functional and cross-country initiatives without direct authority.
• Act as a thought leader and mentor, sharing knowledge and championing best practice in technology strategy, architecture, analysis and responsible innovation.

What you'll need

• Relevant experience in technology strategy, CTO advisory, enterprise architecture, innovation, digital strategy, technology transformation or consulting; we welcome both high-potential and more established profiles.
• A broad, technology profile: strong understanding across the technology stack, combined with the curiosity and capability to go deeper into an unfamiliar subject when required.
• The ability to operate strategically without becoming lost in hands-on technical detail, connecting technology trends with business, commercial, economic and customer considerations.
• Experience developing technology or domain strategies and producing clear strategy documents, white papers, recommendations or executive-level materials.
• Broad knowledge of disciplines such as technical or solution architecture, business analysis and data, with familiarity with approaches including TOGAF, SAFe, waterfall, agile, DevOps and DevSecOps.
• Excellent business acumen, analytical judgement, planning, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communication, presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear organisational choices.
• A highly collaborative style and the credibility to work with senior leaders, domain owners, technical specialists, delivery teams and partners across functions and countries.
• Autonomy, reliability and comfort working through ambiguity, taking ownership with limited direction while consistently meeting commitments and producing accurate, high-quality work.
• A responsible approach to AI-assisted work: using approved tools, protecting company information, checking sources and demonstrating personal understanding of the final output.
• Intellectual curiosity, integrity, adaptability and a technology-neutral, value-led mindset, together with English language proficiency at C1 level or comparable.
