Practice Area

We support clients' digital transformations through technology, design, cybersecurity, and risk management. Our interdisciplinary teams develop customized technical solutions, accelerate delivery, and implement major systems and applications.

What You'll Do

We seek experienced, passionate IT Architects to help unlock our clients' digital potential. Preference is given to those with domain knowledge in the Insurance sector, though applications from other domains are welcome if candidates are willing to learn and grow within the Insurance industry.

As a Lead IT Architect, you will work closely with clients to understand their issues, define IT strategies and architecture solutions, and collaborate with our teams to transform client potential into performance. You will take end-to-end responsibility for complex modules within projects, develop specialized knowledge, and begin to assume team leadership roles. You will develop digital and technology concepts, support technical implementations, and guide junior team members. Additionally, you will contribute to proposal development, client relationship management, and business development. Finally, you will help develop the Practice Area and enhance the BCG brand as a key team member.

What You'll Bring

• 10 to 15 years of experience in software development, technical project management, digital delivery, or technology consulting.
• Management experience in IT consulting is essential.
• Experience in the Insurance domain with knowledge of Insurance solutions is highly desirable; applicants from other domains willing to learn are also considered.
• Strong technical expertise with Data and Cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of development methods, tools, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to guide decision-making, articulate trade-offs, and make high-impact technology decisions regarding cloud providers, container orchestration, service mesh, API gateways, and software choices.
• Experience with architectural debt management, governance, and evolution.
• Understanding of microservices architecture, operational concerns, legacy integration, and best practices such as event-driven patterns.
• Ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel globally.
• University degree in a scientific, IT, or business field with above-average academic performance.
• Language requirements vary by location: Fluent English in London; English and Dutch in the Netherlands; English plus French or Flemish in Belgium.
