Job description

Job Title: Lead IT Architect

As a Lead IT Architect, you will collaborate closely with clients to understand their challenges, define IT strategies, develop architecture solutions, and secure buy-in for your recommendations. You will be responsible for larger, complex modules within projects, and start to develop specialized knowledge to solve client problems. You will also assume team lead responsibilities, demonstrate intellectual leadership, and contribute to practice area development.

You will work with clients to develop digital and technology concepts, support technical implementations on-site, and apply your technical expertise, business understanding, and analytical skills. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members, assist with project proposals, foster client relationships, and identify new business opportunities. As a key member of the team, you will help enhance the BCG brand and contribute to overall project success.

Minimum Requirements
  1. 10 to 15 years of experience in software development, technical project management, digital delivery, or technology consulting.
  2. Prior IT consulting experience with management responsibilities.
  3. Experience in the insurance technology market, with knowledge of core insurance processes and packages such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, DXC Graphtalk AIA, Sapiens, Keylane, or SAP Insurance.
  4. Experience with core systems modernization (e.g., policy administration, claims systems, underwriting/pricing) and regulatory reporting (Solvency II, IFRS 17).
  5. Technical expertise in Data and Cloud technologies.
  6. Knowledge of development methods, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement.
  7. Ability to make high-impact technology decisions, balancing pragmatism and dogmatism, on topics like IaaS/PaaS, container orchestration, service mesh, API gateways, and software sourcing.
  8. Experience managing architectural debt and governance, and evolving architecture in practice.
  9. Understanding of microservices topology, resiliency, observability, security, and operational concerns.
  10. Experience with legacy system integration and remediation techniques.
  11. Deep knowledge of integration patterns such as event-driven, synchronous, and asynchronous communication.
  12. Ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel globally.
  13. Language requirements vary by location: fluent in English for London, Dutch highly desirable for the Netherlands, and English plus French or Flemish for Belgium.
  14. University degree with strong academic performance in a relevant field such as mathematics, IT, or business administration.
