Job summary

Oldham College in Greater Manchester invites a dedicated Quality Assurance professional to lead IQA across Travel & Tourism programmes and coordinate plans, sampling strategies, and schedules. You will ensure fair, valid assessment decisions, manage external quality assurance visits, mentor assessors, and drive self-assessment and improvement in line with college policies.

Qualifications

• FE assessment and IQA experience within Further Education.
• Experience with awarding organisation requirements, sampling, observations and standardisation.
• Assessor and IQA awards (TAQA/A1 and Level 4) plus GCSE Maths/English and Level 3 subject qualification.
• Knowledge of assessment planning, feedback, verification and awarding body regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to mentor assessors and ensure quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) across Travel & Tourism programmes, developing IQA plans, sampling strategies and schedules.
• Ensure assessment integrity with fair, valid, reliable and consistent decisions.
• Manage external quality assurance (EQA) and act as main contact for awarding organisations.
• Monitor and sample learner work, review assessor feedback, identify issues and implement actions.
• Lead standardisation meetings and staff development, including inductions for new assessors.
• Contribute to self-assessment reports and act on EQA/audit findings to improve learner achievement.
• Provide regular IQA/compliance reports and represent Travel & Tourism in quality forums.
• Carry out duties in line with College policies including safeguarding and equality commitments.
