Job summary

UKRI's MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences in London is seeking an Investigator Scientist to lead quantitative C. elegans behavioural assays and high-throughput imaging for discovery and screening.

You will supervise students, train researchers and contribute to collaborations while developing robust, reproducible workflows. Working with the Behavioural Phenomics group, you will publish results, participate in funding applications and ensure ethical and safe research in line with LMS and UKRI

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in biological sciences, bioengineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least one completed postdoctoral appointment with independent project delivery.
• Experience with C. elegans and high-throughput screening workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver whole-animal phenotyping projects from design to publication.
• Develop, validate and document reproducible C. elegans assays and imaging workflows.
• Apply genetics and screening approaches to investigate mechanisms and interventions.
• Co-supervise students and train researchers.
• Publish and present research; contribute to funding applications.
• Maintain safe, ethical, and reproducible research practices.
