Job summary

UKRI - UK Research and Innovation is seeking an Investigator Scientist for the Behavioural Phenomics group within the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences (LMS) at Imperial College London. You will lead projects in whole-animal phenotyping and develop robust C.

elegans assays and imaging workflows. The role requires a PhD in biological sciences with postdoctoral experience, strong data analysis skills and ability to supervise junior researchers.

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in biological sciences, bioengineering or related discipline.
• At least one completed postdoctoral appointment with independent research design and delivery.
• Experience with C. elegans research and quantitative behavioural or imaging assays.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver research projects in whole-animal phenotyping from design to publication.
• Develop and document reproducible C. elegans assays and imaging workflows with quality control.
• Apply genetics, microscopy and screening approaches to biological mechanisms and interventions.
• Co-supervise students and train researchers.
• Build collaborations and keep methods current with developments in the field.
• Publish and present research; contribute to funding applications and public engagement.
• Conduct research safely, ethically and in line with LMS, MRC and UKRI policies.
