Job summary

First Military Recruitment is seeking a Lead Internal Quality Assurer in Hull to organise and maintain internal QA across the organisation's training and assessment provision. The role focuses on ensuring fair, valid, reliable and consistent assessment decisions in line with awarded organisations.

Applicants with an engineering background and an IQA qualification (Level 4) are preferred; teaching qualifications and a DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised IQA qualification (e.g. Level 4 IQA) and a teaching qualification.
• Significant experience as an IQA within a training provider environment.
• Strong knowledge of awarding organisation requirements and external quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• The role ensures that assessment decisions are fair, valid, reliable, consistent and that provision meets the requirements of awarding organisations EAL, City & Guilds, ECITB, TWI, JTL (CompEx), Pearsons EDEXCEL Higher National Programs and Apprenticeships.

JB503: Lead Internal Quality Assurer

Location: Hull

Salary: £40,990 per annum

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Lead Internal Quality Assurer on behalf of one of our clients.

You will be responsible for organising and maintaining the internal quality assurance processes across the organisation's training and assessment provision.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Lead Internal Quality Assurer:

• The role ensures that assessment decisions are fair, valid, reliable, consistent and that provision meets the requirements of awarding organisations EAL, City & Guilds, ECITB, TWI, JTL (CompEx), Pearsons EDEXCEL Higher National Programs and Apprenticeships. End point assessment provision sits separately to this role with the Head of Higher Nationals Programmes and Field Team Manager respectively.
• The Lead IQA provides support to IQAs, assessors and trainers, embedding a strong quality culture and driving continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications for the Lead Internal Quality Assurer:

• The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role within an education setting preferably with an engineering background.
• Must have good craft/technical skills, good interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and more than five years in a similar role.
• To be successful the candidate must hold a recognised IQA qualification (eg Level 4 Award in the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practice or equivalent).
• Must hold a teaching qualification and qualifications in an engineering trade discipline to a minimum of level 3.
• Significant experience as an IQA within a training provider environment.
• Strong knowledge of awarding organisation requirements and external quality assurance.
• Experience of leading standardisation and quality improvement activity.
• All successful candidates must pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
