Job description

This role offers a significant opportunity for an accomplished engineer with proven Instrument Engineering skills. Here are some reasons why it could be a fantastic chance to broaden your professional horizons:

  1. You will be an integral part of a global team of experts who design, commission, and support licensed chemical plants for numerous international clients across various innovative technologies.
  2. You will lead global programs that span the entire project lifecycle, including instrument design, software testing, commissioning, and start-up. You will work within a multidisciplinary team and may travel occasionally to support clients in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
  3. When not traveling, you will be based at the Wilton Centre in Teesside, once the headquarters of ICI. This is a genuine centre of expertise, and the organization is one of the region's most successful and reputable businesses.
  4. You will be a visible part of a standalone UK company employing over 100 people, with the added security of being part of one of the world's largest privately-owned businesses.

What you can contribute:

As one of the few Instrument Engineers in the Engineering Team, your role is to deliver comprehensive instrument design packages for process technology license projects. You will play a key role in developing new technologies within multidisciplinary projects.

You should be a technically capable engineer with a relevant degree, enjoying both technical challenges and team management, including supervising and mentoring less-experienced team members.

It is important that you align with the company's guiding principles of innovation, improvement, and transformation. Qualities such as humility, integrity, respect, and intellectual curiosity are essential for creatively solving problems and supporting others' success.

We are open to candidates from backgrounds such as oil and gas, chemical processing, or instrument manufacturing, provided you have experience in designing process and safety logic systems and developing robust process-control strategies.

The role will mainly be based at the Wilton Centre, Teesside, with a flexible working arrangement. Financial support may be available for those considering relocating to northeast England, an area known for its scenic countryside, stunning coastlines, and affordable living.
