Job description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Instrument Engineer, who is also open-minded to new ways of working, to join our Global Instrument Engineering community. In this role, you will be pivotal in delivering cutting-edge instrument design packages and developing new technologies within multi-disciplinary projects. The role is likely to include supervising and developing less-experienced team members. This position requires occasional international travel, sometimes at short notice, providing a diverse and enriching professional experience.

Our office at the Wilton Centre is on a large science and business park, just ten minutes from Middlesbrough. With the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, North Yorkshire coast, Teesside International Airport, and the East Coast main line all within half an hour, you’ll enjoy a perfect balance of work and leisure.

What You Will Do

• Deliver comprehensive instrument design packages for process-technology licensing.

• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement new process technologies.

• Engage in international travel for client meetings, software testing, and plant commissioning.

• Provide leadership and guidance to other team members.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline

• Expertise in specifying field instrumentation

• Proficiency in designing process and safety logic systems

• Ability to develop robust process-control strategies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Aptitude for coaching and mentoring team members

• Open-minded, curious, and with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Willingness and ability to travel internationally
