Petrofac Instrument Engineer Contractor Role

Petrofac is seeking an Instrument Engineer Contractor for a 12-month contract based in Aberdeen, UK.

The role is outside IR35, and we invite Limited Companies to engage.

The scope of services will be reviewed should there be a significant change to client support requirements.

Scope of Services:

1. Provide engineering input to estimates for project work scopes
2. Participate in progress and planning meetings
3. Provide technical expertise for equipment modifications or procurement, including:

• DCS, ESD F&G, and Metering system modifications
• Field Instrumentation (Pressure, Level, Temperature, Flow, Specialist Measurements)
• Valves
• SIL, High Integrity Systems (HIPPS)
• Measurement and Metering
• Industrial Networking and Communications

Resolve technical queries, ensuring design changes are captured via change control

Conduct site surveys offshore or onshore

Produce calculations and participate in design reviews

Check and approve disciplined documents, including interdisciplinary reviews

Produce documentation for work packs

Ensure technical support meets safety case and performance standards

Comply with engineering procedures, codes, standards, and policies

Approve dispensations where justified
