Wood is currently looking for a Lead Instrument Commissioning Technician to join our System Integration (SI) team within our Digital Consulting business supporting across our UK projects.

This role will be based at the Kirriemuir site, and candidates must be in a commutable distance to the site.

The position can be on either a staff or contract basis.

Applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role

The Lead Instrument Commissioning Technician will support the safe execution of the instrument commissioning work scope in accordance with contract requirements, specifications, and schedule.

The selected individual will ensure applicable HSSE and Quality practices are implemented & followed, and where applicable, permits in place and associated toolbox talks completed prior to commencement of work activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Instrument tech who possesses good organisational skills and the ability to plan for safe work scope execution, ensuring all applicable components (procedures, permits, tools, and equipment) are in place.

Expected:

  • Proven experience in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering and/or recognized Instrumentation trade apprenticeship/trade background
  • Experience as a Senior / Lead Instrumentation Commissioning Technician or similar role, with a proven track record of delivery
  • Thorough understanding of Instrumentation systems, including installation, testing, static commissioning, and general O&M
  • Proficiency with CompEx & MS Office tools
  • PTW understanding & familiarity (SCO91 Training provided)
  • Experience with GoCompletions / Hub2 or similar software
  • Experience supervising personnel and managing workforce safety during commissioning activities
  • Excellent knowledge of HSSE and Quality practices/procedures
  • Demonstrable leadership qualities and core behaviors expected of a lead
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
