Job summary

Rock UK's Summit Centre in South Wales is seeking an experienced Instructor to join the leadership team and help plan and deliver high-quality outdoor activities. You'll work closely with the Chief and Senior Instructors and take on significant day-to-day responsibility for the centre's activity provision. The role supports the Christian ethos and mission, with success requiring upholding values and communicating them to staff and guests, including some evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• CWDI or RC I certification (Rock Climbing Instructor) is required.
• Paddlesport Leader or Paddle UK water leadership award in Canoe, Kayak or SUP.
• Mountain Leader (ML) - Summer or Cave Leader qualification is required.
• A valid 16-hour outdoor first aid certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver day-to-day planning and delivery of the centre’s activity provision as part of the instructor leadership team.
• Uphold and communicate our Christian ethos, mission, and values to staff and guests.

Education

CWDI or RCI certification

Paddlesport Leader or Paddle UK water leadership

Mountain Leader (ML) - Summer or Cave Leader

Outdoor first aid certificate (16-hour)

Job description

Hours per week: 37.5 (including some shift patterns with evening and weekend working required)

Salary: £26,750 per annum

Contract Term: Permanent, Subject to satisfactory references, an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) Check and a 5-month probationary period

Location: Summit Centre, South Wales

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Instructor to join our leadership team and play a key role in delivering high-quality outdoor activities at Summit Centre. Working closely with the Chief Instructor and Senior Instructor, you will take on significant responsibility for the day-to-day planning and delivery of the centre’s activity provision.

As a valued member of the instructor leadership team, you’ll also play an important part in upholding and communicating our Christian ethos, mission, and vision to both staff and guests.

Essential Qualifications:

• Climbing Wall Development Instructor (CWDI) or Rock Climbing Instructor (RCI)
• Paddlesport Leader or Paddle UK moderate water leadership award in either Canoe, Kayak or SUP
• Mountain Leader (ML) - Summer or Cave Leader
• A valid 16-hour outdoor first aid certificate is also required.
