Job Description:

Role Title: Lead Installation Engineer

Business Unit/Department: Sustainable

Location: Watford Depot (Heathrow contract)

Reports to: Field Operations Manager

Role Purpose

This is an exciting new role for a Lead Installer of UPVC & Aluminium Window, Door and secondary window products in the Sustainable sector. You will be responsible for each installation, ensuring it is installed to the highest standard and completed Right First Time. You will demonstrate excellent technical knowledge and customer skills and must be able to survey jobs that you will install. A company fuel card, van, access equipment, consumables, and uniform will be provided. You are expected to provide your own tools.

Key Accountabilities & Activities
  • Plan and execute domestic installations from start to finish
  • Support the company's brand image through pride in your work
  • Ensure a high standard of workmanship
  • Overcome installation issues to resolution
  • Manage and take responsibility for installation team members, including recruitment when required
  • Capture and record accurate survey information for product orders
  • Quantify all materials required for installations
  • Work as part of a wider team with office and field staff
  • Support the wider business on glazing, window, and door works
  • Manage and resolve workmanship and product issues on installations
  • Demonstrate excellent customer skills for complaint resolution and payment processes
  • Maintain own admin and compliance duties within company timelines
  • Ensure FCA & PRA compliance
  • Work to internal Service Level Agreements and Team targets
  • Adhere to Right First Time and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Comply with Health & Safety requirements
Experience and Personal Attributes
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Lead Installer in the domestic Home Improvements sector
  • Significant experience with casement windows, sash windows, composite doors, bifold doors, UPVC & aluminium doors, patios, and secondary glazing
  • Experience with structural bay windows
  • Experience in surveying window and door products
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UPVC & Aluminium market offerings
  • Ability to apply wet trade finishes (plastering, rendering, pebble dashing)
  • Excellent face-to-face and telephone communication skills
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload
  • Team player, self-driven, reliable, polite, tolerant, and determined
  • Full UK/EU driving license
  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in fenestration installation or valid MTC card
  • Experience with large national installation companies (e.g., Anglian, Everest)
  • Conservatory installation/surveying experience
  • Ability to perform small building works and UPVC repairs
  • NVQ Level 3 in fenestration surveying
