Job summary
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 7 inpatient pain nurse specialist to lead the acute pain service across two Gloucestershire sites. You will supervise the inpatient pain team, collaborate with chronic pain services, and drive education, governance and service development.
The role requires NMC registration, a non-medical prescribing qualification, and a track record of quality improvement and multidisciplinary leadership within inpatient pain
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with degree level education (NMC)
- Registered Non-Medical Prescriber and ongoing professional development
- Experience leading inpatient pain services and multidisciplinary teams
- Evidence of quality improvement activity and clinical governance involvement
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the inpatient pain service across hospital sites
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the team
- Deliver education and training for staff across the organisation
- Engage in governance, audits, policies and guidelines for pain management
- Manage a caseload and supervise staff, with annual appraisals and performance management
- Collaborate with chronic pain, palliative care, pharmacy and other services
