Job Type: Full Time

Who are we?

Within the @one Alliance, we are a collaborative organization comprising eight partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO) and our extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment program.

We are preparing for AMP8, our most ambitious Asset Management Period, focusing on nature-based solutions like wetlands and urban drainage schemes. We aim to set global benchmarks, build a better environment, and offer growth opportunities for our workforce. We seek to expand our teams with a focus on career progression.

With numerous projects planned for AMP8 to ensure water supply across the region, our success depends on managing work efficiently and exceeding customer expectations. We prioritize high standards in project design, innovation, and efficiency. We are seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer in our Water (Infrastructure) team, specializing in potable water infrastructure (pipelines).

What will you be doing as our new Lead Infrastructure Engineer?

You will provide technical reviews, guidance, and input on potable water (clean) and water recycling (wastewater) infrastructure projects, focusing on pipelines/networks. Your responsibilities include supporting design efforts, ensuring compliance with standards, and mentoring junior engineers. You will report to both the Senior Design Manager (Engineering) and the Principal Infrastructure Engineer, supporting engineering delivery teams by reviewing project deliverables and maintaining engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track milestones and review dates in collaboration with Design and Technical Managers.
  • Work with Principal Engineers to improve design calculations, standards, and products.
  • Review drawings, calculations, and change requests for compliance and quality.
  • Lead design review meetings and contribute to safety and commissioning strategies.
  • Ensure quality through Autodesk Construction Cloud workflows and support discipline engineers to meet deadlines.
  • Promote innovative technologies, manage technical knowledge, and adhere to MAS standards.
  • Mentor and develop engineers to enhance skills and establish procedures.
Skills, Experience, and Behaviors:

Ideally, you will have a degree in water/wastewater engineering or a related field, with proven expertise in designing potable and wastewater pipelines, quality assurance, and risk management. Familiarity with design software processes is preferred. Strong communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and mentoring skills are essential. This role provides technical leadership across projects within the relevant portfolio, ideal for those seeking to advance their engineering careers.
