Do you want to work in an environment where science and technology are at the forefront of safeguarding the UK?

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer with a strong understanding of Active Directory and experience supporting a wide range of Microsoft technologies. You will be crucial in maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure and contributing to transformation projects.

What you will be doing:

1. Manage and maintain Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and OU structure.
2. Support and improve infrastructure services across Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and Azure AD.
3. Implement and support patching strategies using tools like WSUS or SCCM/MECM.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues at 2nd and 3rd line levels.
5. Monitor system performance to ensure high availability and security.
6. Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and projects.
7. Contribute to documentation, change management, and process improvements.

What you will bring:

1. Experience working with Microsoft and Linux technologies in secure, enterprise environments.
2. Knowledge of DNS, PKI, Active Directory, DHCP, and distributed file shares.
3. Understanding of storage and backup technologies in physical and virtual environments.
4. Hands-on experience with virtualization using VMware or similar technologies.
5. Experience in designing complex systems and creating high-quality documentation.
6. Knowledge of network security and TCP/IP networking.
