Job Title: Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Hours: Full-time

Working Pattern: Hybrid, involving at least two days per week or 40% of the time at one of our office sites.

The Modern Workplace Platform is key to accelerating the Group’s transformation and cloud-native capabilities. Joining our diverse team, the Colleague Messaging and Surveillance engineering team within the Technology function delivers communication tools that enable colleagues to interact quickly and productively across various devices.

Our team is based across the UK, primarily using Microsoft cloud-based services to enhance colleague productivity, supporting Britain’s recovery efforts.

We seek a motivated, collaborative professional to support a new, ambitious service, eager for progress and development. You will assess technical and business aspects of changes within Colleague Messaging and Surveillance, ensuring decisions balance business needs with technical requirements, supplier performance, and risk. You will champion process alignment with automation and evergreen principles, leveraging cloud services to continually improve our modern workspace services.

What you’ll need

• Technical expertise combined with strong interpersonal skills to support positive relationships and ownership of problems, especially as we embed an “Evergreen” transformation model.
• Experience working with Service and Change partners to address issues and adapt to new ways of working.
• Knowledge of software lifecycles, maintenance, and Microsoft technologies (Windows 11, Exchange 365).
• Experience with communication technologies and SaaS cloud architectures, including:
• Microsoft Exchange (on-premise and cloud)
• Email encryption technologies (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
• Email routing and security solutions (e.g., Cisco IronPort, DKIM/SPF/DMARC/SMTP DANE/DNSSEC)
• Email archiving and journaling applications
• Electronic and Voice surveillance SaaS (e.g., Veritas ALTA)
• Electronic Fax Solutions
