Job description

Lead Implant Ink Technician

Location: Milton Keynes

Working Hours: Mon-Fri 08:00-17:30 (On Call Rota)

Salary: GBP 34,500

The Role

This role involves providing technical support at a customer location, including mixing ink, colour matching, technical problem solving, and supplying finished ink according to customer specifications. It is a physical role requiring hands-on work.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Ensuring ink and base stock levels meet the customer's production needs.
  2. Manufacturing ink on site.
  3. Producing reports on ink consumption for the customer.
  4. Providing 24-hour support on a rota basis.
  5. Performing on-site colour matching.
  6. Monitoring ink usage and optimizing formulations.
  7. Attending daily customer meetings if required.
  8. Reporting any technical deficiencies in ink performance.
  9. Managing stock levels and placing orders with the main plant.
  10. Checking incoming goods and updating system records.
  11. Maintaining batch records for 18 months.
  12. Adhering to customer site health and safety standards.
  13. Previous experience as a Team Leader is preferred.
  14. Travel to other implant sites may be required.
The Candidate
  • Experience in ink manufacturing is desirable.
  • Experience in a laboratory, chemical, or pharmaceutical environment is desirable.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Basic qualifications in Maths and English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of 5S and ability to work in a clean environment.
  • Ability to distinguish between different ink colours.
  • Residence within 45 minutes of the customer site due to callout requirements.
  • Availability to work on a 1-in-3 week 24/7 standby callout schedule.
