Job summary

Salience Labs seeks a senior specialist to lead the development of III‑V active components integrated with silicon photonics. You will guide devices from epitaxial stack and design through fabrication with external partners to full characterisation and qualification.

The role requires a PhD or MSc with extensive hands‑on experience in III‑V devices, strong modelling, testing and collaboration across disciplines. You will mentor team members and help recruit as the group grows.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with heavy hands‑on experience in III‑V devices and photonics.
• Demonstrated track record from concept to fabrication and test, incl. qualification.
• Deep understanding of laser/amp physics: gain, dynamics, noise, saturation, thermal effects and polarization.

Responsibilities

• Design and modelling of III‑V active devices with epitaxial layer control.
• Own technology roadmap and translate system requirements to device specs.
• Lead mask design and tape‑outs, including GDS layouts and DOE tests.
• Coordinate fabrication with external foundries and monitor yields.
• Define characterisation strategy across wafer to integrated PIC level.
