Job summary

James Lewis Recruitment is seeking a Lead Senior Authorised Person to lead HV safety across a network of data centres and critical infrastructure. Based in Hertford, the role involves oversight of SAPs and APs, and guidance on complex switching and commissioning.

The successful candidate will have extensive HV experience, data centre exposure, and the ability to mentor teams while travelling to project sites across London and the South East. Salary £80,000–£100,000 plus package.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as Senior Authorised Person on HV systems.
• Background in data centres or critical infrastructure.
• Strong leadership and mentoring of SAPs/APs.
• Willingness to travel across London and the South East.
• Ability to interpret RAMS and switching documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the team of SAPs and APs across multiple projects.
• Provide technical oversight on HV projects and assess competency.
• Review switching schedules, isolation procedures, energisation plans and RAMS.
• Support appointment and authorisation of SAPs/APs and hazardous activities.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety rules and client procedures.
• Conduct site audits and review subcontractor competency.
• Assist with shutdown planning and commissioning activities.
• Drive consistency of HV practices across projects.
