Job summary

Dennis Eagle Aldridge Service Centre is seeking an experienced Workshop Chargehand to lead hands-on vehicle maintenance and daily workshop operations. You will help coordinate workloads, uphold safety standards and ensure quality repairs for HGVs and similar vehicles.

The role demands strong diagnostic skills, DVSA knowledge, and a proactive, team-oriented approach in a busy workshop environment. A supervisory background is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and repairing HGVs or similar commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of DVSA regulations and workshop compliance requirements.
• An HGV licence is required or essential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGV and similar vehicles.
• Diagnosing faults across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• MOT preparation and chassis/body repair tasks.
• Coordinate workloads and support workshop operations.
• Promote safe working practices and high housekeeping standards.
• Ensure work meets DVSA and company standards.
