Job summary

SmartSourcing Ltd in London is seeking a Lead Graphic Designer to steer design direction for branding, information design, and data visualization. You will lead designers and collaborate with a multidisciplinary leadership team to align design with business objectives.

The role is hybrid with 1 day on-site in London and offers a six-month initial contract at around £575 per day inside IR35. You will mentor others, work with Front End developers, and embed accessibility across projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience creating and shaping presentations for Branding and Data Visualisation projects.
• Ability to present work to stakeholders including design teams and senior leaders.
• Designed accessible information across multiple mediums.
• Strong storytelling and communication to non-designers to guide design direction.
• Experience reducing complexity while balancing technical constraints and user needs.

Responsibilities

• Set the graphic design direction, shape its proposition and ensure it contributes to organisational objectives.
• Work effectively in an agile, multidisciplinary environment.
• Use research and analytics to understand user needs and test designs.
• Lead graphic design in a collaborative, open way with teams.
• Scope designer work and highlight complexity and dependencies.
• Collaborate with development, strategy and communications to ensure coherent branding.
• Embed accessibility into the design process with developers and design system teams.
• Analyse design templates to reduce complexity while ensuring flexibility for future iterations.
• Guide, support and mentor other designers.
