Are you a confident Independent Prescriber Pharmacist looking to take the lead in a dynamic and patient-focused GP practice? We’re offering an exciting locum opportunity based in Southampton, starting this June. If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact in primary care, this role is for you.
Job Title: GP Lead Practice Pharmacist
Location: Southampton
Start Date: June
End Date: Ongoing
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (30-minute break)
Rate of Pay: £32–£42 per hour (LTD or Umbrella)

About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a lead clinical role where you’ll run your own independent prescribing clinics and manage a wide range of long-term conditions. You’ll be working within a supportive GP practice, collaborating closely with GPs, nurses, and the wider MDT to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Run structured medication reviews and independent clinics
Manage long-term conditions such as asthma, COPD, hypertension, and mental health
Deliver prescribing interventions aligned with NICE guidance
Contribute to QOF achievement and practice development
Maintain accurate clinical records and deliver safe, effective care
GPhC-registered Pharmacist
Independent Prescriber qualification – this is essential
Experience working in a primary care or GP surgery setting
Strong clinical knowledge in managing long-term conditions
Completed or enrolled on CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (desirable)
