Role Overview:
KPMG UK is seeking a Lead GenAI Engineer to join our Data & AI team, specializing in generative AI model development, AI transformation, and large-scale enterprise AI implementations. In this role, you will lead impactful AI initiatives, driving innovation and solving complex business challenges. You’ll guide cross-functional teams, define AI strategies, and deliver cutting-edge solutions that generate tangible outcomes for KPMG and our clients. The role also offers significant influence on how AI shapes KPMG’s business practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead AI Transformations: Drive large-scale generative AI transformation projects across the organization and clients, ensuring seamless adoption of AI solutions that address critical business challenges. Provide AI thought leadership to stakeholders, advising on strategy, roadmap, and integration of generative AI technologies into business processes to create value.
- Technical Leadership and Collaboration: Lead AI engineers and data scientists, mentoring junior staff and ensuring best practices in AI development. Collaborate with teams to design scalable AI systems, create proof of concept, deliver MVPs or full projects, and deploy models into production.
- Business Development & Practice Building: Work with business teams and clients to demonstrate AI potential, assess feasibility, lead studies, develop data strategies, support RFPs, and conduct demos.
- Ethical and Secure AI Deployment: Ensure compliance with data governance policies and industry regulations. Implement best practices in data privacy, security, and ethical AI, especially with sensitive data. Contribute to KPMG’s knowledge base on fair and transparent AI models.
- Research & Innovation: Keep abreast of AI advancements, apply new methodologies, conduct research, and publish findings. Present insights at industry conferences.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Background: A degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics) is preferred but not mandatory if you have significant professional experience. Advanced certifications in AI/ML, cloud computing, or data engineering are advantageous.
- Work Experience: Proven experience in AI/ML, especially in developing and deploying generative AI solutions at scale. Experience with LLMs like GPT and BERT, AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), cloud-native solutions, and tools like Databricks and Snowflake. Strong background in cloud services and managing stakeholders in complex environments.
- Skills: Proficiency in designing and optimizing generative AI models, prompt engineering, understanding of AI algorithms, and deploying solutions in cloud environments. Familiarity with Git, Linux, Docker, Hadoop, Spark, Elasticsearch. Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Business development experience is a plus.
