The Cloud Adoption team is accelerating the use of the next-generation technical platform, central to a major UK financial service transformation. We seek a Senior Engineer for our GCP Engineering team to lead Google Cloud Platform adoption, support application cloud use, and guide teams in engineering solutions. You will advise on public cloud adoption, demonstrate strong communication skills, and develop industry knowledge.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Supporting customer demands with deep technical expertise.
• Promoting Cloud Adoption best practices and acting as an ambassador.
• Leading upskilling initiatives and mentoring colleagues.
• Contributing to code and leading by example.
• Managing team priorities and removing impediments.
• Collaborating with Product Owners and stakeholders.
• Leading technical discussions with diverse teams.
• Driving automation and security best practices.
• Delivering cloud-hosted solutions as an SME.
• Line management of engineering staff.

About you

Proven experience in software engineering, infrastructure, and architecture with a passion for technology. Experience leading cloud adoption and migration, especially with GCP, Kubernetes, and Terraform, is essential. Certifications are desirable.
