Job summary

Aegon is seeking a Fund Contracts Negotiation Manager to join the Investments team in a hybrid role based in Witham or Edinburgh. You will lead contract negotiations and oversee legal documentation for new investment funds, collaborating with fund managers, legal, and regulatory teams.

The role requires strong negotiation and project management skills, with a keen eye for risk, governance and process improvement. Hybrid in-person collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience within the UK fund management, investment platform, wealth, pensions or wider financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge of investment funds, fund managers, platforms, advisers, discretionary fund managers and the broader investment landscape.
• Demonstrable experience in contract negotiation, stakeholder management, and achieving client-focused outcomes within agreed timescales.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex negotiations simultaneously.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret contractual and legal documentation, assessing potential business impacts and risks.
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across legal, regulatory, operational and commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the negotiation and execution of legal agreements and associated documentation required to support the launch of new investment funds and fund ranges across Aegon’s propositions.
• Manage contract amendments, renewals, novation’s and other legal changes required to support existing fund managers and investment solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with fund managers, legal representatives, compliance teams, regulators and key internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of negotiations, approvals and contractual documentation to support governance and audit requirements.
• Identify and mitigate contractual, operational and regulatory risks while driving negotiations to successful conclusions.
• Support regulatory change initiatives and business projects requiring updates to contractual arrangements and legal documentation.
• Continuously review and enhance processes, controls and ways of working to improve efficiency, consistency and customer outcomes.
